Warm regards from the Sun Peaks Speed Skiing Club (SPSSC) and the residents of Sun Peaks, BC Canada!


The SPSSC, it’s volunteers and supporters are actively organizing the 2016 Velocity Challenge and FIS World Cup Of Speed Skiing set to hit the headwalls speed track March 2nd to 5th 2016.


We are looking to promote this years event throughout the North American ski industry (as well as Europe via our friends overseas) and plan on welcoming new speed competitors to a one day event on March 1st 2016 called the “So You Think You’re FAST, Eh?” pre-race training day. This all day event will allow for virtually unlimited speed runs from the course lower starting points to become familiar with gear (available for on-hill rental), speed, and technique with critique and words of encouragement from some of the world’s fastest skiers! Attracting new racers to the sport of speed skiing is critical to the future success of the event here in Canada, so we are encouraging any strong skiers who have an interest in trying this exhilarating sport to online casino usa begin planning your trip to Sun Peaks, BC this year!


After the one day “So You Think You’re FAST, Eh”  training day event, we will host a four (4) day FIS race format identical to other past events, including two (2) World Cup races and the Velocity Challenge.


The FIS sanctioned Speed Skiing race events are the ONLY FIS alpine discipline that allows for new, amateur racers to compete and earn FIS World Cup points, skiing against some of the fastest S1 and Production Class National Team members from around the globe.


FIS Numbers, What you need to know.


They are simple to obtain, but essential if you want to race in any of our FIS World Cup races. It will require some pre-planning on the racers part if you are coming from the USA, in which case you will need to contact the USSA. Please arrange this before you proceed to register for the race as this is necessary.


Those who live in Canada can obtain their FIS number by contacting the Sun Peaks Speed Skiing Club prior to the event, but please do not leave this to the last day. If you are in need of an FIS number and reside in Canada you can email for further instruction.


Those in Europe will need to contact your national team organization for more information.

Registration for this world class event is now open to the public, all racers must pre-register on no later than

February 1st 2016. Early registration, months ahead of time is encouraged however to assist us in planning.


We would also encourage you to “Like” our facebook page, “Sun Peaks Speed Skiing Club” as this will also provide a hub for pre-race communications with those planning to attend this year.
