Please read the below information carefully as it contains important information for all racers wishing to compete at the 2016 Velocity Challenge and FIS World Cup Races
FIS numbers are simple to obtain, but essential if you want to race in any of our FIS World Cup races. It will require some pre-planning on the racers part if you are coming from the USA, in which case you will need to contact the USSA. Please arrange this as soon as possible before you proceed to register for the race as this is necessary. Athletes coming from the US can contact the USSA Membership Department www.usskiteam.com or contact them by phone (434) 647-2666.
Those who live in Canada can obtain their FIS number by visiting:
and downloading the FIS Athletes Declaration . Once the document is completed it can be sent as an e-mail to Blake Andreassen, President Speed Skiing Canada at email@example.com. Along with the signed and completed Athletes Declaration all Canadian racers must submit a copy of a valid Canadian Passport with picture to prove Canadian Citizenship.
This is to ensure all racers receive FIS World Cup points. Racers who miss this deadline can still apply for FIS numbers but must realize that they will not be able to obtain any World Cup points for the 2015/2016 race season. ALL CANADIAN RACERS MUST SUBMIT A SIGNED ATHLETES DECLARATION EACH YEAR.
Those racers coming from Europe will need to contact your national team organization for more information.
